Student Declaration for the World Conference on Higher Education
The most representative international student organisations from all five continents met at UNESCO Headquarters inParisin January. As a result of their gathering, they issued a Global Student Statement to express their concerns, interests and expectations in the perspective of the 2009 World Conference on Higher Education.
They call for education for all, high quality and greater accessibility of higher education, the protection of student rights, the participation of students in all levels of governance and reform, a student-centred approach in teaching, a major role of UNESCO in the debates on global higher education.
The student organisations commit themselves to explore and map out a plan for the possibilities of future global student cooperation.
